ended the year with a bang—i wrote The End to the first draft of my fantasy novel [MSO]. finished at 159k words in a month and a half. i was writing more than 3k words daily, and understandably, as soon as i wrote the last word, i closed the document, shoved my laptop to the side, and enjoyed the holidays disconnected from work. it was pretty amazing.
but as 2025 trickles in, so is my energy, buzzing and soaring as Big Next Steps loom. love y’all, wishing you a year of comfort and peace and happiness🫶🙂↕️

december is a month of culminations and endings. as i cross the 130k mark of my book [MSO] i am definitely starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. writing The End is just over the horizon. however, there are plot threads loose and writing a satisfactory climax is proving to be quite the challenge.
This is the biggest book i’ve ever written and GOD am i starting to feel it. but this story is full of excitement and adventure and danger that i’m addicted to write and write more about these characters. and while i don’t complain about that, it gets me farther away from the end.
i think it’s time to share 🥁🥁🥁 the comp titles for MSO!

![hello people my supernatural-thriller-dark-academia-vibes book, [ILITW], has officially become a second draft!
It has been a while, more than a year actually, since I revised a first draft. I've been too focused on my MG and YA books, both pretty advanced on editing stages, that I forgot how exhausting first revisions are. They require an extensive analysis of story structure, themes, arcs, plot point—all of which need an incredible capacity of focus and concentration. It took me a little over a month, and it went from 61K to 102K words long—in retrospect, it explains why I felt so drained whenever I finished a writing session; the book practically doubled in size!
There's still a long way to go for this book, but I am strangely proud of what it has become so far (considering the holes and changes that still need to be added, dear lord).
A year ago, I was drafting while in Sweden, where I was inspired by the beautiful landscapes and impressive history. Now in México, I get to go there again, live vicariously through my words of fiction.
